Founded in October 2024 by Ari Santamaria, OptiGrow Financial Inc. builds on nearly two decades of Ari’s financial expertise and leadership supporting startups and growth-stage companies with clear, reliable financial insight.
Early Career & Foundational Experience
Ari began her career in Missoula, Montana, working in the service department of an accounting firm. During that time, one of her clients—a fast-growing tech startup—invited her to join them as their in-house Controller.
Starting at the ground level, she built out the finance function from scratch:
- establishing processes and internal controls,
- implementing software and systems,
- tightening reporting and compliance, and
- supporting the company through major growth.
During her tenure, the company scaled from 16 employees to more than 130 and successfully navigated two funding rounds (Series A and Series B).

Growth-Stage Leadership in Austin’s Tech Ecosystem
Her career then led her to Austin, Texas, where she joined the emerging growth division of a local consulting firm. There, she partnered with clients across the tech, SaaS, gaming, project- and service-based industries—providing hands-on financial leadership to multiple startups and founders navigating rapid expansion, restructuring, or operational complexity.
Financial Transformation for a Growing Gaming Studio
One of those clients—a local gaming studio that had recently raised its Series A—invited her to join their team in-house as Director of Finance/Controller.
Once again stepping into a hands-on leadership role, Ari led the company through a critical financial transformation, including:
- converting from cash basis to accrual accounting,
- redesigning financial systems and reporting,
- implementing new processes and controls, and
- supporting investor relations with clearer forecasting and financial visibility.
Her work played a key role in positioning the studio for its Series B and long-term growth. While no longer an internal employee, Ari continues to serve as their trusted Fractional Director of Finance today.
Why OptiGrow Was Born
After years of helping founders and business leaders untangle messy books, build scalable systems, and make confident financial decisions, Ari saw a major gap: growing businesses needed expert finance leadership—but not all could justify or access a full-time Controller or CFO.
OptiGrow Financial Inc. was created to fill that gap.
